Unbank.Ventures has developed a venture education program to train venture associates for the fund due diligence and portfolio fundraising. This 1-month self-paced program teaches the basics of Venture investing.
This program is also used to train Angel and corporate ventures. The program serves both as a training tool and a brand awareness asset.
This course brings together the fundamental knowledge any early-stage investor must know to make their fist investment. The course is lead by Brett Noyes. Noyes has over 10 plus years of experience working with startups from the main street to Silicon Valley to global funding sources.
Participants of this course will leave with a comprehensive understanding of the global startup investment landscape and the ability to select and make their first investment.
In module 1 the student is introduced to the course curriculum and structure. This foundational course focuses on 3 key areas. These areas are venture terminology and vocabulary, how venture funds are structured for legal protection and tax minimization and finally how to develop your investment thesis.
In module 2 the student is introduced to the core components of due diligence. The student will learn how to establish a deal sourcing strategy, a deal screening process, evaluate startup deal material and presentations and create your due diligence process.
In module 3 the student is introduced to technical and legal aspects of investments. The student will learn about term sheet considerations including both economic and control considerations. The student will also learn about capitalization table and dilution considerations.
In module 4 the student will learn about key areas of knowledge for making the deal and exiting the liquidity events. The student will learn about key areas of legal regulation, how to make the deal, final terms and consideration and liquidity events.
